WHAT great news to see that something is finally being done about boy racers in Glasgow.

I was pleased to see that the police are taking action against the louts who tear around the city centre putting lives at risk.

I was horrified to see cars tearing down Renfield Street when I left work late one night last week. It was only by sheer luck that no one was killed as there were pedestrians everywhere.

I read in another Evening Times story how the two people who died on Glasgow's roads this year were both pedestrians, so it's good to see some positive action against these idiots.

Bravo to Karen

I WAS inspired to read in Saturday's Evening Times how Karen Casey lost 13 stones for a kidney transplant.

It's easy to be judgmental about people who are overweight but in most cases we know nothing about their lives or circumstances.

Karen admits it was only when her doctor told her he wouldn't put her on the waiting list for a kidney transplant unless she lost weight that she finally took action.

She is an inspiration to us all.

Brown fury

I get so angry when I see the no campaign using Gordon Brown as their expert on the economy, especially pensions. Mr Brown is the main reason why this country was so badly hit by the recession. He failed to control the economy, to regulate

the banks and even managed to sell off the UK's gold reserves at the wrong time, losing hundreds of millions.

Good Life

Delighted to see that Glasgow Life has thanked gym members for disruption during the Games with freezing membership rates. It is a great idea to keep people interested in the fitness boom that we enjoyed over the summer. Our facilities were first class. It is great the public are now getting to make use them for years to come.
