If not Ryanair or Eastern European budget airlines, who else is going to fly there?
What the Government needs to do is get another carrier, such as Virgin, to offer direct flights to Heathrow from Glasgow.
More long haul routes would be great, but the problem with most long-haul routes is you need bigger planes to fly them and neither Glasgow, Edinburgh or Prestwick have enough passengers to fill those bigger planes.

A bad deal
Good tenants make good property. Bad tenants make bad property. Unfortunately, with council cash being used to fund common repairs, bad tenants and bad landlords are to be rewarded.

LATE opening and free parking won't bring shoppers back to Glasgow. The city centre can never compete with out of town shopping.
We need to get away from this weird idea that increasing public subsidies on parking spaces will somehow save local businesses, the high street or be fairer to the public at large. It won't. Businesses are effectively subsidising cheap parking at their own expense (increased rents to cover costs) while penalising those who don't drive.
Cheap parking - bad for business, bad for people.

Loved Friday's Memories picture of the old Shish Mahal curry house in Gibson Street.
The reason there was such long queue on the night in question was because the Shish was celebrating its 20th anniversary, and had dropped its prices to what they were when the restaurant first opened in 1968, making them very cheap indeed.
