GO to a pre school nursery and you will see small children playing away happily with each other without any concept of each others religion or colour or wealth.

Then boom they are old enough to go to mainstream school and that's where the trouble starts, they are divided into different schools some religious, some state, some public/private there they remain until they are 17 indoctrinated into thinking that only they have the right religious beliefs, no matter what god that is, of course the parents who put them in those schools have a hand in this as it is their decision in the first place to choose the school that teaches the religion that they want the child to follow.

The various churches and religious institutions are delighted with this after all they have a vested interest in making sure they have a following and income for themselves for ever, as has happened all through history.

Nothing will change until the general public starts to think for themselves and the divisive nature of the early separation of our innocent children into various beliefs is consigned to history.

REGARDING children on non-specialist and adult psychiatric wards, in this environment, children are wide open to abuse from both staff and patients. Children do not have a leg to stand on. Once in hospital who are the people in authority and the public going to believe. Certainly not the vulnerable children. Stop this barbaric practice now.

WHY should I swap Braehead or Silverburn for Byres Road. At these out of town centres I can park for free and shop in warmth and comfort without being harassed. I can visit the toilet any time I want and have a good choice of places to eat. I can get cash safely out of many cashpoints.

In Byres Road on a recent visit, there were no parking spots and the busy traffic polluted the street with noise and fumes.

The days of indoor shopping are here to stay.

I HAVE been reading the opening remarks from our politicians on the upcoming election. We have the usual selection of yah boo political utterances, they will do this we will do that.

Not one politician has mentioned the fact that if all the tax that should be paid was collected there would be enough cash to cover all the needs of the welfare state. There are too many people in this country who are economically in-active i.e. they don't pay tax or national insurance, and they don't claim benefits. What are they living on.
