I suspect many of the careless owners are buy-to-let landlords, trying to make as much money as possible from their flats.
I have foregone installing central heating in my flat as my money has been used to pay for keeping the building itself in a good condition. What about some money for the likes of me, towards installing heating?

I would like to thank Joan Clark (Letters, October 10) for her concern for shop staff during the city's new later opening hours.
I am one of the unfortunate shop assistants who is finding themselves having to work these late hours.
Joan is correct in her assessment of the fact that shop bosses have given scant regard to their staff having a work/life balance. She is also correct that they have given no regard as to how their employees are to get home.
I know we chose to work in retail, but we didn't sign up to work in an environment where our daily working hours can be changed at the whim of the management.

WITH the leaves beginning to fall, making pavements slippery, blocking up drains and causing puddles, can Glasgow City Council not use offenders on community service to keep the streets clean?
