The recent story from the polls about many Labour seats going to the SNP can hardly be a surprise.

Months ago Labour in Glasgow, in particular, must have realised they were struggling and tried to revamp and regroup as much as they could.

But I don't think it matters who is at the top of Scottish Labour. Many feel it is too little too late and that turning to the SNP seems the best option.

Let's hope both sides come out fighting in the run up to the General Election and get the country fired up about politics as it did before the Indy Ref.

I hear there is an app out just now where you can compare how much it would take for high paid footballers to earn what you do in a day or a year.

It may make some people a little bit unhappy if they were to work it minute by minute. However, there is one use where the app might come in use.

It would be interesting to compare how much the footballers earned by minute compared to what charities bring in. That is something I woud like to know and it would highlight just a what a farce it is that footballers earn such a ridiculous amount of money.

Reading Saturday's paper I was pleased to see that it has finally been agreed that part of Govanhill can be demolished.

The plan for the slum clearance is a massive relief for all the people who live in the area.

For too long we have had to put up with properties which no one should be living in and which should have been condemned a long time ago.

The £9.3 million which the Scottish Government has made available is a great boost to the necessary redevelopment of the area.

This should encourage more people to move into the area, which I know from personal experience, has a great deal to offer.
