I am writing about the difference between Glasgow and Edinburgh at Christmas and Hogmanay.
As I live in Glasgow, I have visited the Christmas markets and George Square every year. This year I decided to visit Edinburgh and see how their Christmas markets would be.
I was very surprised with how outstanding Edinburgh host their Christmas markets and how they celebrate their New Year.
In Glasgow, we do not get a Hogmanay party as Glasgow City Council decided to take it off us.
Edinburgh has the best Hogmanay party in the world.
Edinburgh also has a wonderful Christmas markets with a Santa wonderland.
Maybe Glasgow can take a leaf out of Edinburgh's book and give the people of Glasgow a Christmas festival they will be proud of.

I was reading your memories pages about the elderly gentleman who was feeding swans. Have you seen the state of Bingham's pond today. I'm surprised any swans survive in it. It's like a derelict site. I would not like to feed the swans in these surroundings. I remember wee boats, a tea room, nice grass and benches. Who is responsible.

Regards the car park plans for George Square, I understand the hotel's problem, but look at the modern build next to it and the ugly building of printing. I think we need a change and boot Labour out chambers. The floodgates are open for any poor architecture.

Well done to all those involved in the extension of the Theatre Royal. It is a great asset for the city and will ensure the longevity of an already great venue. I have been going to the theatre for many years and I hope generations to come can enjoy it like I have over the years.
It looks like a building which will become another Glasgow landmark.

I know everyone talks about Glasgow Loves Christmas and not to take anything away from George Square, has anyone been to Govan lately.
An extra special effort has been made this year and Govan is looking great thanks to a community effort.
