I can't understand how the Bellgrove Hotel can qualify as a dwelling place, which can legally claim housing benefit.

Surely there is a minimum standard of housing set before payments are made to the landlords.

Aren't they required to comply with fire and health and safety regulations. What have the councillors who should be protecting and advocating for vulnerable within our community doing.

This establishment is a disgrace to the people of Glasgow. We should feel ashamed out of sight out of mind.

Regards car park plans for George Square, yet further expanded car park provision in this increasingly grid-locked area around Cathedral, North Hanover, Renfrew and Killermont Streets, occasioned by the existing car parks. These hinder services to/from the bus station, despite the all too frequently ignored bus-lanes thereabouts. Smart move? I think not.

I was shocked to read the Scots had the highest level of pay day loan debt in the UK. I think its an outrage that this allowed to happen. Something is clearly not working here and surely at this time of year, someone has to take action. It is only going to get worse over the festive period. Pay day loans are billed as helping tide people over, but it seems like a nightmare to me. I have no doubt though that somewhere, some people will be making money from this sorry mess that people find themselves in.

Surprise, surprise. High Street sales down, Silverburn sales up. When will Glasgow City Council get the message that they're killing shopping in Glasgow with bus lanes, bus gates, and high parking fees.

In addition they're chasing away tourists who receive fines for being in bus lanes they didn't know were there, like the Canadian visitor who received multiple fines, and others I know who have vowed never to return to Glasgow for the same reason. When will common sense prevail.

I see the famous Gallowgate twin flats are due to come down soon. They certainly have been a landmark for many years. I grew up around the area, but have sinced moved away. Given all that has been done for the East End for the Commonwealth Games - it is almost unrecognisable. Hopefully people will agree it is for the better.
