Of course it is appalling that any pupil in a Glasgow school, or any school, should suffer racist incidents, but I was most interested to read that there are 134 languages spoken in schools in the city.

It is a far more diverse mix than when I was at school, which is really not that long ago. Things are changing very fast and pupils and teachers are having to adapt.

Maybe schools should be looking at equalities training and trying to educate pupils about each other as well as their writing and numbers.

Children since time began have fought, argued, and insulted each other. It is all part of growing up.

A more interesting part of the story is that there are now 134 languages spoken by pupils at Glasgow schools, makes you wonder how the teachers can communicate with the pupils, never mind educating them.

£300,000 for an indoor skatepark? I wonder if Glasgow councillors need their heads read. They seem to have cash to chuck around at the most pointless exercises and yet there are mental health services being cut and people struggling to feed themselves.

How anyone can justify that amount of cash on such a thing as an indoor skatepark I will never know.

The snow is here again and in Glasgow City Centre it's the same story - roads clear but pavements in a shocking state.

In all the years I have used North Hanover Street, which must be the most exposed and dangerous street for icing in the whole of Glasgow City Centre, I have yet to see it gritted.

Surely some consideration could be made to grit pavements as well, they are just as busy as the roads.
