It was heartening to read (yesterday) about the Disability Community and the fact that it and PEEK have made the final six in a bid for money from the People's Millions Big Lottery Fund.

The Possilpark group was originally saved by TV's Secret Millionaire, then the city council stepped in and now they are trying for this £50,000 boost.

The charity is desperate for a mini-bus and, hopefully, if we all vote for them, they will win the money.

I am also aware of the work PEEK has done in the community to help young people.

Either would be a worthy winner.

Cash for killers

NOW two killers wantvisiting rights (Saturday): I trust the Scottish Government will see that this arrogant pair do not get a penny in compensation.

It matters not a jot whether they were in a relationship prior to their heinous act. They had no thoughts for Allison McGarrigle's human rights when they murdered her.

Breed apart

READER R Keery writes that, treated properly from birth, raised and trained properly, there is no reason why pit bull and such breeds would be any more aggressive than any other dog.

They were not "built" to do anything, same as you and I weren't. People do bad things, too. What types of people are you going to single out for crimes they commit?

Any owner or parent would think their pet or child is wonderful, but that is not always the case.

Yes, it is high time that CCTV is fitted in all taxis (yesterday).

The taxis in Blackpool all have CCTV cameras fitted.

I know a few taxi drivers, two are private hire drivers and the other a black cab driver.

We already have CCTV on buses and trains and even in some bus shelters.

Let's see CCTV in all taxis by the end of 2014.
