Can anyone explain to me why cyclists are forced to share a lane with buses on the busy commuter route from Shawlands to the city centre.

During rush hour, when the neighbouring lane is filled with cars, buses are forced to slow down to the speed of a cyclist, thus negating any speed benefit of using public transport.

It surely doesn't benefit the cyclist either to have a convoy of double decker buses following them. The wide pavements of Pollokshaws Road and Eglinton Street provide ample room upon which to paint a cycle path, a cheap and simple solution which would benefit both cyclists and buses. This system works in many other cities, it could surely work in Glasgow too.

Regarding planners wanting a say in the new look Queen Street station, why should they have a say on this decision? They are not architects, designers or urban planners. Quite frankly I am sure the majority of people in this city have very little faith in their opinions or decision making power in light of recently approved schemes in central Glasgow, not to mention the George Square competition fiasco.

I am pleased to hear that they won't have a say on this one to be quite honest.

It is good to see Castlemilk Foodbank reopen its doors following donations. I am not surprised they had run out of food given the situation some families find themselves in. However, as much as it is a help that we have these volunteering running these clearly, invaluable foodbanks, is it right going forward.

When will someone finally take notice and sit up and do something. We can't expect people to continue in this way.

I think it is a fitting tribute that there is to be a lasting memorial at the Clutha. It was once a vibrant site for people to enjoy a night out with friends and soak up live music. I hope in the time the families involved will feel that a memorial is a way of paying tribute to those who lost their lives there and a way of giving people hope for the future.
