Re:

traders facing a £700 annual charge to park near the new South Glasgow hospital, is this how the council plans to pay for Fastlink?

As it is, hardly anybody in Govan knows anything about this very expensive and ill-planned transport link.

They should improve the local bus services to the hospital before they start ripping people off.

Currently, there is no bus I can catch when visiting comes out at night, because it stops early due to low patronage, the SPT replacement service then kicks in two hours later.

Planning folly

Glasgow City Council would be mad to close Mr Reynolds' West End cafe just because it doesn't fit with their planning rules. It provides jobs and serves customers.

I presume these are the same planning rules which have seen some areas swamped by bookies' shops. Look at Paisley Road West. There are 10 bookmakers in a one mile stretch of road but, presumably these are classed by the council as a 'retail offering'.

A cafe or a bookies? I know what I would rather have.

Numbers game

No voters keep telling those who voted Yes in the recent referendum to shut up and stop campaigning. In fact, only 55% of those who voted said No.

The latest population figure for Scotland is 5,295,403 (2011 census) which means the 55% No voters (2,001,926) represent about 39% of the population. The majority - 3.2 million - either voted Yes, never voted, or didn't have a vote. And yet the ungracious No's have the affront to lecture the rest of us about democracy.

Stand united

Regarding, the SNP, why don't they just accept that Scotland voted No.

All Alex Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon and their party have done, is to split Scotland. We should be united.
