I could not keep a straight face watching the Queen's Speech.

Prince Charles was nodding off.

HRH was reading a prepared speech which is promises, no more no less. Iain Duncan Smith was lurking in the sidelines wondering how he could hit the poor next.

And Tony Blair saying that he would finish his commitments as middle east peace envoy.

Straight faced from the man who with George Bush caused the war in the middle east killing countless in the process. I hear that he has been offered a job in the next edition of Shameless.

Apparently George Square belongs to all our citizens. Really? Well my experience in nearby

Buchanan Street previous to last years Referendum disproved that! When I, an elderly woman walking home in the afternoon, was accosted by SNP members who tried to force their leaflets upon me, and got quite angry because I refused, (I had already voted by post), they surrounded me until I was 'rescued' by a gentleman passer-by.

I was very shaken, and do not feel the same about the city I have loved for almost 50 years. Now I shop mainly online and I would certainly not go into the city when there is a demo.

Incidentally I have never been accosted during any sectarian marches, although I do not agree with them.

I had to laugh when I heard about cyclists getting stuck in the tram lines in Edinburgh.

I remember it all too well when we still had trams in Glasgow. My bike was always getting stuck in the tram lines and you just couldn't steer. It was great fun and great days though. Wish we had trams back in Glasgow.

What a shame about Shawlands. I have lived here for 60 years and I have seen it go downhill. Street bins are overflowing and are bursting at the seams with fastfood containers.

Shopping central - you are having a laugh. All we are seeing now is charity shops and bookmakers.
