It's not the 'city's shame' there is child poverty in Glasgow.

The burden of shame lies squarely on the shoulders of past and present governments, MPs and MSPs alike, who have failed the people that voted them in; both the wealthy and the not so well off.

They have failed the latter miserably.

Easy answer

So 77% fewer motorists are ignoring the new bus gate. Well with the large letters painted on the roadway, no one can say they weren't aware of the bus lane.

The basic problem is, too many people are wedded to their cars and until that ends, there will always be congestion.

Glasgow has many excellent and cheap park and rides, so the motorists could easily resolve the issue if they so wished.

Ebola fears

Ebola has been carried to America and Spain by voluntary workers.

If this deadly disease has an incubation period of 21 days, surely, to help contain it, anyone who has been known to have been in contact could be placed in quarantine for this time.

Quarantining passengers from affected areas might be impractical, but free movement seems extremely dangerous.

Square rules

'I'll camp out to highlight hunger,' says another campaigner, as people do whatever they please in George Square.

Good cause it may be, but if we allow this to happen every time any organisation has a grievance then soon the square will be full.

Time to draw a line under this, or who knows where this will end.

Heroes' homes

IS the '£6.7m lifeline houses to help veterans' available for WWII, Korean and Falklands veterans, or just the Gulf and Afghan veterans?

The old veterans went through hell with little help from the British Legion.
