I STRONGLY object to the proposal to utilise the site at 419 Balmore Road to house asylum seekers/refugees as there is a complete lack of support in place to look after them.

They are being dumped into a site that is not fit for purpose, into a community that has no means or knowledge of supporting them.

They are being moved from a location with an infrastructure in place to support them to a location that is entirely unsuitable.

To house 200 people in a building that size is ridiculous and an affront on the whole "provide suitable accommodation" ethos for asylum seekers and refugees.

Cop priorities

DRIVING along Gibson Street in the West End of Glasgow on Tuesday, I noticed a police road check with four high-powered police cars and 10 police officers in attendance.

It turned out they were checking for cyclists with no helmet or lights on.

On a day that Britain is on high security risk for terrorist alert?

What a waste of money.

C.Diff delay

WHY wasn't something done years ago about the outbreak of C.diff at the Vale of Leven hospital?

In 2007 Nicola Sturgeon was Health Secretary. For two years she refused to open an inquiry into it.

Driven out

THE question of bus lanes and now more bus gates in the city centre will eventually lead to the whole area becoming a no-go zone for drivers.

People in the West End are close to Braehead, south-siders can quickly get to Silverburn and both the Fort and Forge shopping centres are easily accessed from the East.

Glasgow is supposed to be one of the world's top shop[ping locations. The Style Mile is not much use if people can't drive there and park without being penalised.
