What has happened to the fight for social justice that we hear so much about when Glasgow City Council has just taken a vote to slash the budget of a mental health group by 40%.

These citizens of Glasgow are among the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society, with a varied and complex range of issues that require a high standard of care.

How can any one with a conscience allow this vote to go through knowing the hardship it will cause.

If politicians cant protect the disadvantaged in society then what is the point of political parties?

So much for the transport minister boasting a few days ago that the authorities are geared up for the winter weather.

Snow falls on the M8 during the rush hour and the traffic comes to a standstill.

Where were the gritters?

I read with interest that the number of shoppers are on the rise on the city's high streets and also that the number of passengers has soared at Glasgow Airport.

It's good to hear some positive news about people being able to shop and go on holiday rather than the constant doom and gloom of people using food banks and suffering welfare cuts.

If only there was some way of meeting in the middle so there was enough to go around for everyone.

I have really enjoyed your Active 2014 challenge throughout this year.

All you ever hear about Glasgow is how much we drink, eat, smoke and don't exercise. So it is inspirational to see all these people getting off the sofa and making an effort to be fit.

Let's hope they all keep it going until 2015 and let the legacy of a great year for Glasgow continue on.
