Regards the threat to school breakfast clubs, it's an absolute joke.

The council brought the breakfast club in saying it was to be free for all that use it, made a big thing about this and since have proceeded to charge for it and raised the price twice already. Just the same as school dinners, the price for them is now £1.70 and Cordia have the contract with lousy dinners that run out before the kids get there and they end up with a sandwich.

They really don't want breakfast clubs in school so what they are doing is putting up the prices so people stop using them. Then they can say ' no one is using them' so they can shut them down.

Following the news that MacDonald furniture store is to close, I'm afraid the city is becoming a copy of every other town and city out there. With the same old shops and restaurants, you could be shopping anywhere. I wish more was done to bring in small traders and independent stores, and lower rates so the ones that are left stay.

Regarding Brenda Mitchell's letter in Wednesday Evening Times, following on with her logic if a big car and a little car are in collision then the big car would be liable regardless of who's fault caused the accident.

She is correct that if a motorist collides with a cyclist the motorist is liable but what if the cyclist collides with the motorist? Motorist still guilty?

Guilty until proven innocent.

Should the police not be cracking down on speeding motorists as part of their daily duties? I will bet most of those targeted will be those doing 33mph in a 30mph zone or 43 in a 40 zone good for statistics.

They should be targeting those we all see doing 50 plus in a 30 zone these are the numpties that kill and cause serious injuries/accidents.

Regards the new Southern Hospital volunteers plea, I don't understand why it's expected that volunteers would take up this role. Surely this is the type of service that should be provided by paid employees ... I'm sure there are people looking for work that would love a job like this.
