TO all citizens of Glasgow once again Glasgow City Councillors, most deliberately chose to totally ignore the wishes of the electorate, who voted them into power.

However, it is not long now, until 2016 when we the electorate will rid our great City of Glasgow of the current Labour led administration, and to show them all the "total-power" of the democratic power of the ballot-box.

Their total disregard, and contempt of the peoples wishes is breathtaking, as they vote through planning applications, which do not match their voters wishes.

I WAS sad to hear about the loss of Crocket's from the city centre.

It won't come as a surprise to other traders in the city centre who are struggling in the face of internet sales, high rates and parking restrictions.

However, I wonder how many of the customers who mourned its loss actually shopped regularly in the store?

If we want those stores to survive we have to support them.

AT last we seem to be moving forward on the site originally proposed for Selfridges. It is just a shame there seems to have been such a hold up on this one.

I am still surprised that we are not looking at a store of that calibre or similar moving in to that end of town. You only have to look at the success of the Selfridges store in Birmingham to show that it works outside London. I would have thought it would have thrived.

I am glad that something is finally being done and from the look of the designs a cultural square is exactly what the city needs.

GOOD to see that Motherwell has secured a major cycling event 2015 Pearl Izumi Tour Series this year. I am not surprised after the success of the Commonwealth Games for the road race in the city and the time trial events in Lanarkshire.

The public turned out in force to watch the events so I am sure this event will be a big draw.
