Your ongoing story of the fight to save the Royal Concert Hall steps reminds me of a piece in the late Mr Glasgow Jack House's book The Heart of Glasgow.

The council were going to demolish the Tolbooth at Glasgow Cross in order to facilitate traffic at that junction.

When Jack found out he protested to the council and suggest to them that removal of the public toilet at the rear of the Tolbooth would have the desired aim that they sought.

Thankfully they must have listened to Jack's opinion and common sense as well as appreciating his sincere love of Glasgow. Hopefully they will take heed of today's protests as regards the steps.

Just read in last night's Evening Times that Labour's Jim Murphy has unveiled a new bill tackling the 'devastating' impact prison sentences can have on prisoner's children.

I'm sick of hearing the amount of time, energy and money being spent on prisoners and their families. I would much rather there was more effort being used to help the victims of these prisoners crimes and their poor families, who are often left behind and suffering beyond belief. There isn't much help for them at all. This alone would put me off voting for Labour now.

For the interest of Mr Swinney, concerning recent press coverage of your write off of £450,000,000.00 of Poll Tax arrears could you please publish the names and addresses of everyone that is having their debt written off together with their liability.

How many of those who are having their poll tax debt written off work for the government, are civil servants, work for the council are teachers, firemen, policemen. Can you also please explain why you will not collect the arrears and honour your pledges on education and jobs. As an aside what is your Government's solution to the jobs crisis if the UK government pull out of the nuclear bases.

Delighted to see the Magners music festival is returning to the city this year. It was a great way to get people back to the bandstand last summer when there was such as buzz with the Commonwealth Games in town. Looking forward to seeing the line up for 2015.
