REGARDING the LibDems saying Nicola Sturgeon should rule out a second referendum, why would the SNP stop trying to achieve their aim for Scotland to become independent?

After all, it is what they were created for.

For the LibDems to be seen as a serious political party, they should have a serious look at themselves and their policies. They would get a bigger share of the votes in Scotland if they backed independence, but they then would suffer in England.

Maybe they should just disappear - I don't think anyone would notice.

Safe to learn

IT IS worrying that there is a rise of incidents in Glasgow schools (Evening Times, October 7).

Not only are we talking about pupils' safety but their education.

I didn't make the most of my education but hope youngsters today don't blow the chance.

Fast track fail

REGARDING pay-to-park plan for car owners in Govan to beat flood of hospital drivers, this seems to be an admission that the fast track bus system will be under used. A fortune has been wasted on this scheme.

Other well-used bus routes could have benefited from this investment.

Parking mad

IS Glasgow City Council seriously admitting it has authorised the building of a hospital with 10,000 staff and parking for only 3000. (Evening Times, October 6)

This disclosure beggars belief.

Everyone involved in the decision should stand down immediately.

Good deed

IT IS good to see banks are giving back to the community (Evening Times, October 7).

The Santander branch pledging to match donations for the Moira Jones run shows how communities can come together.
