OPINION: Tell us who you want to be your champion

LAST year the south East of Glasgow gave us some excellent community Champions right across the categories.

Now it is time for your nominations for who you think deserves the special recognition for their work in the community.

The South East gave us Maureen Cope, who went on to be the overall Glasgow winner in her Senior category joining the list of city wide Community Champions.

Again there is a range of categories to ensure everyone who merits a nomination has an award to fit their particular circumstances, whether there are working alone or as apart of a team, young or older, or working for the uniformed or community services in the area.

The awards are a huge success because they have the support of the people right across Glasgow who let us and the awards partners Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Housing Association, Community Planning Partnership Strathclyde Police and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, know who is making a difference.

We know there will no shortage of contenders waiting to give our judging panel a headache once again

So get in touch with your nominations and let the rest of the city know who your champion is and let us give them the thanks they deserve.
