Craig Brown

Who should be the Scotland boss? Well, even though I am the last Scotland manager to lead the nation to the Holy Grail of qualification and my results record when I was in charge is truly magnificent, I'm afraid I rule myself out as a candidate.

I am totally committed to my job here at Aberdeen of building up hope and delivering nothing. I have to say, though, there is no shortage of excellent characters for the job.

Kenneth Dalglish? Yes, Kenneth would be a good candidate.

The only thing that goes against him is he seemed to lose the plot at Liverpool and ended up completely hopeless, so maybe that makes him perfect for the job.

Joseph Jordan? He would be great at scaring the pants off the opposition dugout, especially if he takes his teeth out.

Walter Smith? Unfortunately, he's off to Rangers.

I'm sure the Tartan Army would have loved to have had him back as gaffer.

Graeme Souness? The only way Graeme would take the job would be if he was promised a massive transfer budget.

Wee Gordon Strachan? I think he's the man for the job.

He's played for Scotland, he looks like a Scotsman and he knows how to get the best out of average to dud players and I say that with the greatest respect to the average and dud players in the squad.

One other name I have heard mentioned is Rod Stewart. Is that a viable option? No, I'm sorry but I really do think it should be a Scotsman who gets the job, so that immediately rules Rod out.

Gordon Strachan

Am I interested in the Scotland job? Aye. Very interested, as it happens.

I've always been a huge fan of Scotland and it would be an honour to manage my country.

How do I think the game will go tonight in Luxembourg? Eh, what game?

Denis Law

Well, you know, as I say, I'm always delighted when a Scotland manager gets his jotters because it means someone will come to me looking for my opinion on who should take his place.

I have to say that for me, there is only one man to manage Scotland as their manager and that man is Sir Alex Ferguson.

Apart from the fact that Sir Alex already has a full-time job managing the mighty Manchester United, I can think of no reason why he shouldn't be offered the job.

Craig Levein

Obviously I'll be watching the Luxemburg v Scotland match, I would have gone but for the fact that I now have to pay myself and obviously I'm unemployed now so money is tight.

I will be supporting Scotland, of course I will. I hope they do well, I really do because I'd hate for Scotland to lose and me to have the chance to go, 'see, that wouldn't have happened if I'd still been in charge', I really, really would hate to be given opportunity to say that. Aye, right.
