Wayne Rooney last night said he was praying for his hero Paul Gascoigne as the former Rangers faces a new battle in his bid to beat alcoholism.
The ex-England star is undergoing treatment at a detox centre in the United States.
Rooney said:: "He was a hero of mine growing up and it's sad for everyone to see and read about. Hopefully he can get himself out of this situation."
