SEVEN-TIMES men's singles champion Pete Sampras may return to Wimbledon for the first time since 2002 if Roger Federer meets Andy Murray in a dream final on Sunday.

Federer could break the record of 14 Grand Slam wins he jointly holds with Sampras if he claims what would be a sixth Wimbledon title.

Sampras said: "It's a long trip, but it's a great moment in sport. Roger is a friend and it would be great to be there. I miss Centre Court, miss playing great tennis. Nothing compares with Wimbledon."
