POLICE have named two men who died when their car caught fire.

POLICE have named two men who died when their car caught fire.

Driver Fahid Noor, 20, and his passenger Arif Ashraf, 23, were killed in the accident at 2.25am on Saturday.

Mr Noor, of Frankfort Street, and Mr Ashraf, of Rouken Glen Road, both Glasgow, were in a Vauxhall Vectra in Ayr Road, East Renfrewshire, when the accident happened near Eastwood Toll.

The Vectra crossed the carriageway and hit a Vauxhall Corsa before overturning and catching fire.

The driver of the Vectra died in Glasgow Victoria Infirmary, while his passenger died at the scene.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Corsa suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to hunt a van driver who is suspected of murdering another driver by forcing a Ford Transit off the M74 around 4.30am on Thursday.

Mark Fleeman, 32, died and 17-year-old Lee Allsup was left fighting for his life.
