CAMMY BELL has urged the Light Blue legions to lay off the boos after Lee McCulloch came under fire from the stands last weekend.

The Ibrox skipper was heckled by sections of his own support during the 2-2 draw with Falkirk as Stuart McCall's side dropped valuable points in their promotion bid.

Rangers now head to Tynecastle this afternoon hoping that Hibernian will slip-up and allow them to clinch second spot behind Hearts in the Championship standings.

And keeper Bell has called for fans to get right behind the Gers and help inspire them to play-off success in the coming weeks.

He said: "It is always vitally important that the fans are supportive of us. They have been great this season.

"They have turned out through some really hard times. But obviously it was disappointing on Saturday that some of the supporters booed Jig.

"He is a great guy and a really good player as well. At the end of the day, we can kind of accept it if we are booed as a team when we don't perform.

"I can accept that. But to individualise any player is hard to accept because we go out as a team and win and lose as a team.

"Jig has been fine this week. He is an experienced professional. So he has just got on with it. It is part and parcel of football.

"But we will need all the fans to be behind us. I am sure they will be. It only happened two or three times and then it got drowned out by a round of applause.

"The fans have been great this season and I am sure they will stick with us. If we can have them all sticking by us for the rest of the season that would be great because we are going to really need them."
