BILEL MOHSNI has vowed to improve his concentration and cut out the silly mistakes for Rangers this season.

The big defender has a good relationship with the club's fans despite often infuriating them as passes go astray or his lapses allow opposition teams a chance to score.

Mohsni has held down a regular place at the heart of the Light Blues' rearguard since returning to the side after being suspended for a headbutt in the pre-season friendly against Derby County.

The 27-year-old has kept summer signing Marius Zaliukas out of the team to partner Lee McCulloch at the back.

And he's determined to take on board a message from boss Ally McCoist to concentrate on keeping things simple at the back.

Mohsni admitted: "The mistakes I made earlier in the season were maybe down to that and a lack of match fitness too.

"I feel more comfortable and fit now but I know I need to keep working on my concentration to stay focused on the game. I'm trying to give 100 per cent in that regard and not make any mistakes.

"The manager wants me to be solid. I know I can pass and dribble, and I like doing that, but I also realise you can make a little mistake when you do that and lose the ball.

"The manager says he needs me to defend. That is a bit frustrating for me but I'm doing that. I know the fans maybe don't like it if they see me kick the ball straight out of the pitch but I don't want to upset the manager or my team-mates.

"I am working hard on doing simple things. If I get caught out against teams in this league it will be more dangerous than it was last season.

"So I'll just stay at the back and try to be solid in the centre of defence."
