JOHN BROWN insists he has no regrets over his famous speech on the steps of Ibrox as he backs the new Rangers board to lead the club to a bright future.

Bomber was a vocal critic of the Charles Green regime in the days, weeks and months after the Englishman's arrival in Glasgow, and was at the forefront of calls for change for several years.

The landslide EGM victory for Dave King, Paul Murray and John Gilligan brought an end to the lengthy boardroom battle in March as fans - including Rangers First and the Rangers Supporters' Trust - rallied to the cause.

King hopes he will be passed 'fit and proper' by the Scottish FA before he takes up the position of chairman at Ibrox and Brown is pleased to see the new board in place.

He said: "I have no regrets about what I did. I might have certain regrets about the way I put things over.

"When you are on the steps, it is the heat of the moment, and you are pulled up for anything. But I was passionate.

"I knew what Charles Green's plan was and what he was going to do to the club. In recent weeks, everyone is more positive. We have got a new board in.

"It takes time to go through the process, but hopefully Dave will be proven fit and proper because he is willing to put a lot of money into the club.

"There are a lot of business guys willing to do that. I know all the guys on the board - Douglas (Park), John, Paul and I know Dave - and they are all Rangers men through and through.

"The supporters' groups have got behind them. It takes time for things to happen.

"The board have a hard job to do, but when we come out the other end, the fans will be a lot happier."
