BILEL MOHSNI could miss the Old Firm League Cup clash due to the African Cup of Nations.

The competition is in doubt at present due to the Ebola outbreak and Morocco have until tomorrow to decide if they wish to host it.

If it does get played, it could see Mohsni absent from Rangers duty from January 17 to February 8, one week after the Hampden derby showdown.

Gers boss Ally McCoist said: "People keep talking about squads and the numbers we have in ours and this is why we need as many players to fill our group as possible.

"You do get injuries, suspensions and international call-ups. Regardless of the fact he hasn't played recently, Bilel is still a very important member of our squad.

"Darren McGregor and Lee McCulloch have been doing well and were put together due to Bilel's suspension.

"We have to show loyalty to boys who do well and we'll continue to do that, but we would still rather not be without anyone else.

"It would be nothing short of a real shock for Tunisia not to qualify now because of the position they're in.

"If and when he goes, we'll wish Bilel well but we'll certainly miss him. It's a catch-22 situation."

Rangers host Falkirk tomorrow as they look to keep up the pressure on league leaders Hearts.

McCoist has hailed the attitude of his stars through the latest round of off-field headlines.

"We're blessed with a bit of experience in the squad," he said.

"We've obviously got the skipper [McCulloch], Kenny Miller, Kris Boyd and big Jon Daly, boys who know the game.

"They know what's right and wrong and they've been over the course before.

"The focus throughout the team has been great and everyone knows how important it is not to take your eye off the ball.

"There have been one or two distractions there that might have merited attention elsewhere, but they've stuck to their task."
