JAMIE WALKER today set his sights on helping Hearts complete an Old Firm double - by knocking Celtic out of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Walker netted the penalty that secured a 2-0 win for the Jambos over Rangers in an SPFL Championship clash at Tynecastle.

But the 21-year-old winger isn't wallowing in the afterglow of that victory and revealed he now wants to help Robbie Neilson's men beat the Hoops.

He said: "We're glad we've got the Rangers game out of the way because we can now look forward to Celtic this week.

"In the League Cup game through at Celtic earlier this season they deserved to win. But we missed a penalty and I missed a great chance. So we are going into the game full of confidence and we think we can get a good result.

"The club's in a better place now than we were when we played Celtic before. We are full of confidence because we haven't lost a league game. We are doing well."

Meanwhile, Walker has claimed the win over Rangers shows that Hearts have the strength in depth they need to maintain their title challenge.

The Jambos were missing captain Danny Wilson and top scorer Osman Sow and still managed to pick up all three points.

He said: "It just shows the quality we have in the squad. Brad (McKay) came in and Soufian (El Hassnoaui) came in and that shows we have got good players who can come in and fill the gaps when needed. We have got boys who can come in and play whenever we need them, so we are delighted with the squad."

Walker won the penalty he converted after a challenge by Ian Black, and he admitted the Rangers midfielder had been unhappy with the decision.

He said: "I thought it was a penalty and I was delighted when the referee gave it. Ian thought it was a dive and tried to put me off when I was taking it. I'm just glad it hit the back of the net."
