NICKY CLARK admits the arrival of Stuart McCall at Ibrox has sparked his season into life after hitting the goal trail for Rangers in recent weeks.

The striker was on target in the 4-0 win over Raith Rovers on Sunday as the Light Blues got their promotion bid back on track following the defeat to Queen of the South.

Clark has also netted against Cowdenbeath and Alloa since McCall replaced Kenny McDowall in the dugout last month as he has made the most of his chance to impress.

And the 23-year-old is eager to continue his fine form and repay his manager for showing faith in him at the head of the Ibrox attacking line.

Clark said: "The manager didn't speak to me personally when he came in, but I liked what he was saying and the ideas he put across and I think you can see on the pitch the impact he is making.

"I do feel a change in myself compared to other stages of the season and I think that comes from playing a lot more games.

"At the start of the season I was in and out of the side a lot and I want to stay in now and keep progressing.

"When you aren't playing the confidence takes a bit of a hit, so you have to keep yourself going and train hard and keep your head right and show the manager you are ready to get into the team."

After seeing off Rovers at the weekend, Rangers head to Livingston tomorrow night aiming to move above Hibernian and back into second spot in the Championship.

And Clark knows McCall's side will have their work cut out against a team fighting for their lives at the foot of the table.

"Livingston will be trying just as hard as Queen of the South and Hibs were because they have their own fight," he told rangers.co.uk.

"They have had a good run of results recently and won the Petrofac Training Cup, so we know they will be confident but we will be ready."
