ROBBIE CRAWFORD is happy to be a Rangers utility man as he looks to impress boss Stuart McCall between now and the end of the season.

The Light Blues kid was pitched in at right-back on Sunday as he made his first start of the campaign in the 4-0 win over Raith Rovers at Ibrox.

After featuring regularly during the Third Division and League One campaigns, midfielder Crawford has struggled to make the breakthrough this term and spent time on loan at Morton earlier in the season.

Crawford said: "It was good to get back out there. It has been a while, but after the gaffer threw me in last week I was really pushing for a start this week.

"It's always tough when you're not involved, but you just need to keep working hard to get your chance. I played well when I came on against Hearts last week and then came back in today which was really good.

"It was my first time playing [at right back], and I was quite comfortable. I tried to get up and down, but it is obviously frustrating when you can't get on the ball. I enjoyed it though and I'm happy to play anywhere the gaffer wants me to."

After bouncing back from the defeat against Queen of the South with a comfortable Ibrox triumph at the weekend, Rangers are now gearing up for a trip to Livingston tomorrow night.

Victory over the Lions would take them three points clear of second-placed Hibs in the Championship standings and Crawford is looking forward to another crunch clash against the side currently bottom of the table.

"Confidence is still high," he told RangersTV.

"Thursday was just one of those nights where things didn't happen for us. We had to put it behind us and focus on the next game, and I think we did that [on Sunday].

"It's always going to be tough, as it has been in the last couple of weeks. Both teams have a lot to play for, but we're looking forward to it."
