The midfielder has been one of the key men for Durie's side in what could be a successful season for the Light Blue babes as they chase a league and cup double this term.
The 18-year-old netted his sixth goal of the campaign in the 2-1 victory over Inverness Caley Thistle on Monday afternoon as he once again caught the eye in the middle of the park.
Boss Ally McCoist has expressed his desire to give the best young talents at Auchenhowie a chance to shine in the first team before the end of the League One campaign.
And, after seeing forward Calum Gallagher make an instant impact against Dunfermline and Albion Rovers in recent days, gaffer Durie hopes Telfer will have the opportunity to star on the big stage.
"It was a tricky game for the wee man against Inverness," he told rangers.co.uk
"Charlie likes to get the ball down and play but the conditions weren't really conducive to that. He has been great for us though.
"Calum has gone in and taken his chance in the last couple of games and the boys have all seen that.
"If Charlie keeps giving us performances like that and getting goals the way he has been, hopefully he'll get his chance as well."
Telfer said: "Calum has done really well this season and he has shown that if you do that you might get your chance.
"Hopefully, Calum can kick on and keep starting.
"If I can keep playing well for the under-20s it would be nice to get a shot too"
