NICKY Clark today heaped praise on the Rangers medical staff for helping get him fit again after his shoulder injury.

Clark returned to the Gers first team after a fortnight out in the 1-0 win over Livingston at the Energy Assets Arena on Saturday.

The forward was delighted to be back in action so soon after suffering a serious knock on the artificial pitch in Alloa last month.

And the 23-year-old, who is enjoying an excellent campaign, has thanked the backroom team at Murray Park for aiding his recovery.

Clark said: "It's always disappointing getting injured. It was a bit of a freak injury on my shoulder.

"It was a sore one at the time because I landed on it awkwardly. I don't think the pitch up at Alloa helped. It was rock solid.

"But it's much better now, the physios have done a great job with me and it's great to be back.

"I returned to action on Saturday against Livingston and it was great to be in the team."

Clark has admitted he was impressed with the stunning strike Lewis Macleod, who also made his comeback, netted to win the game. Despite being out of action for a fortnight, the 20-year-old midfielder scored a spectacular overhead kick in the first half.

Speaking on the official Rangers website, Clark said: "It was an incredible goal, his technique was brilliant. The ball went over my head. I just saw him setting himself for it.

"It was a magnificent goal, but the wee man's got that in his locker. I thought on Saturday he was our best player, he was excellent.

"He is a massive player for us and he is still only 20. He's got a long, long way to go in the game.

"If he keeps carrying on the way he is now, I think he will go a long way."
