JON DALY insists he and his Rangers team-mates won't be affected by rows of empty seats at Ibrox this season.

Gers fans backed their side in huge numbers in two previous campaigns as they claimed the Third Division and League One titles.

But the attendance figures are considerably down this term as the Light Blues bid to win the Championship and book their place back in the SPFL Premiership.

Supporters have stayed away in droves in protest at the way the under-fire Rangers board are running the club.

Only 11,000 turned up at Ibrox last month for the Petrofac Training Cup clash with Clyde.

And only 15,000 saw Ally McCoist's side beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle on their last home outing a fortnight ago. This evening there could once again be thousands of empty seats in the famous stadium when Hibernian travel to Glasgow on league duty.

Playing in front of reduced crowds is something Rangers are likely to have to get used to on home soil this season, but Daly insists it won't have a negative impact on the field.

Asked if smaller attendances affect the players, he replied: "I don't think it does.

"You don't really focus on the crowd when you are out there playing, you just concentrate on trying to win the game.

"It would be ideal if we had a full house. But I don't think it affects the boys at all."
