KENNY Miller today urged his Rangers team mates to focus fully on bouncing back from their Hibs humiliation against Dumbarton at Ibrox on Saturday.

The striker was unable to prevent the Gers crashing to a disastrous 4-0 defeat to their capital rivals in an SPFL Championship game at Easter Road at the weekend.

The loss meant the Glasgow giants fell 15 points behind leaders Hearts in the second tier table - and it almost certainly killed off their hopes of winning the title.

But Miller reckons the Light Blues have to forget about winning promotion via the play-offs - and concentrate on getting back to winning ways against the Sons this weekend.

He said: "We just weren't good enough both collectively and individually against Hibs.

"For us, it's just about finding a way to start performing better and win games now.

"I don't think we can look much further than next week.

"Again, I'm getting a bit tired of saying that, but we can't take anything more than a game at time just now.

"We want to be playing better football and scoring goals. "Of course, long term we want to get promoted.

"But just now it's important for us to find a way to start winning games again.

"The team has a severe lack of confidence at the moment.

"We're lacking a bit of belief in ourselves and our team mates. It's as simple as that.

"You only need to look at the way we have performed over the last few weeks.

"Even when we have been winning games, there's not been a level of performance we've been used to at this club."

Meanwhile, Miller dismissed suggestions the departure of manager Ally McCoist and the appointment of Kenny McDowall as assistant last week had affected the players.

He said: "It was another tough week.

"When you lose your manager it throws things into turmoil. But Kenny has taken over and tried to keep it as normal as possible. We were prepared."
