NICKY Law today claimed Rangers can't afford to drop a single point between now and the end of the season if they want to land the SPFL Championship.

Law and his Ibrox team-mates are already nine points behind Hearts in the race for the second-tier title.

The Gers have a game in hand on their capital rivals after taking the international weekend off earlier this month.

But their midfielder, who netted his fifth goal of the season in the 6-1 win over Raith Rovers on Saturday, reckons there can be no more slip-ups.

Speaking ahead of tonight's Petrofac Training Cup quarter-final with East Fife in Methil, he said: "It hasn't been good enough from everyone in general this season. The two home losses to Hibs and Hearts, our main rivals in the league this year, were tough to take.

"Hearts have been fantastic. You have to say that, with nine wins and a draw. They've set the marker for everyone else. It's not even been close in most of their games.

"We have to go on a run ourselves. We certainly can't afford to drop any more points before we go to Hearts next month. Hopefully, with our game in hand, we'll have closed the gap to six.

"Hearts have a tough game against Hibs on Sunday. You hope they'll drop points. But all we can do is concentrate on ourselves.

"We have to keep winning. We can't drop a point before that Hearts game - or after it."
