Lessons still to be learned over Gers

RANGERS fans supremo Mark Dingwall fears Scottish football has not learned the lessons from the Light Blues' brush with death.

This week marks the one-year anniversary since the Gers were placed in administration by former owner Craig Whyte after he withheld millions of pounds of PAYE and NIC from the taxman.

The actions of the disgraced businessman almost saw the doors of Ibrox closed for the final time and Rangers Supporters Trust chief Dingwall believes more should be done to protect clubs from unscrupulous characters.

He told SportTimes: "At times it was very, very worrying and there were times I thought the club would have to sit a year out of playing football.

"As a Scottish football fan, I would be very worried for any other club that gets into financial difficulties because we have now seen how easy it could be for a club to go under and not come back.
