LEWIS MACLEOD is confident Rangers can pick up where they left off when they resume their Championship title challenge this weekend.

Ally McCoist's side bounced back from their embarrassing defeat to Hibs with a 1-0 win over Livingston last time out as Macleod netted a spectacular winner. While the Gers were sidelined on Saturday after their meeting with Cowdenbeath was postponed due to the international break, Hearts opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the table.

And Macleod hopes history will repeat itself when the Light Blues face Raith Rovers at Ibrox on Saturday.

He said: "The dressing room was much happier [after the Livingston game] than it was in the last week. Everyone was disappointed with the performance and result [against Hibs]. We were just glad to get back to winning ways, and to score myself.

"We played well after the international break the last time against Raith, and opefully we can look for the same when we get back."

Victory over Livi a was secured thanks to a superb overhead kick from midfield maestro Macleod.

The 20-year-old scored an acrobatic effort against Ayr United 12 months ago and was pleased his efforts paid off in stunning style.

"It was up in the air and I just hoped for the best and hit it," he told RangersTV.

"I was delighted. I scored one similar last year so I was pleased to get the goal and the win, which was the most important thing."
