RANGERS new boy Nicky Law has vowed to hit the goal trail this season – and has also assured the Ibrox support they will have nothing to complain about this time round.

There were criticisms from fans last season as the club made their way through the Third Division, with many feeling the quality on offer wasn't good enough.

Law, though, today insisted that the football served up this time around will appeal to the Ibrox crowd.

"The manager Ally McCoist has signed some really good attacking players and I have certainly been impressed by the standard in the few days that I have been here," said the midfielder.

"His emphasis this season is on passing, attacking football.

"He wants us fit and pressing hard and it's certainly a good time to be a Rangers fan.

"They will be a lot more pleased with what they are seeing on the pitch this season. I think there will be an emphasis on fitness and we're going to be working hard, playing attacking football and hopefully scoring a lot of goals."

And Law himself wants to be in on the act when it comes to getting on the scoresheet.

The 25-year-old scored six goals for Stuart McCall's Motherwell last campaign – his best return in a season is seven.

And the attacking midfielder believes that being at Rangers will give him the opportunity to set a career-best.

"I have always said that I want to improve my goal tally and I'll be looking to improve that this season," he said.

"My returns have been not bad at Motherwell, but I feel that I can score a lot more.

"There is great competition here, but I want to play in every game as I have over the last two seasons with Motherwell in the SPL.

"I've managed to play every match and it is great to know you are one of the manager's first picks on the teamsheet.

"That is something that I am working towards now with Rangers.

"I want to make sure that when the manager is picking his team that he can't afford to leave me out of it.

"That is the first aim – to play as often and as well as I can. And then I want to score goals, assist with goals and help any way I can."

And Law has also vowed that he won't be getting into any Twitter spats despite the fact the number of people following him has quadrupled since his move to Rangers a few weeks back.

"They (the supporters) have been great and been welcoming me," said the Englishman.

"I have been told not to expect that for too long, but they have been great so far.

"I have taken my fair share of abuse on there as well which is part of it, I guess, but it is all in good fun.

"When you are on there, you know what to expect. You just take it with a pinch of salt."
