ALLY McCoist has urged Barrie McKay to make the most of his Raith Rovers loan spell this season.
The winger has fallen down the Ibrox pecking order and with first team football unlikely in the coming months he has joined the Gers' Championship rivals.
McKay spent the second half of last season in the second tier with Morton and McCoist is confident his spell in Fife will stand him in good stead as he and six other Light Blue kids made temporary switches this week.
He said: "We felt it would be an opportunity for him to go out and play and express himself in a good league.
"He is one that we will be closely monitoring. The important thing to remember is that this is for the development of the younger boys.
"They are not out of sight, out of mind. Far from it. We will be in regular contact with their clubs and we will be watching their performances and watching them with great interest."
