KENNY MILLER reckons Rangers' win over Hearts earlier this season showed Ibrox at its best as the Light Blue legions get set to pack out the stands once again this weekend.

A bumper crowd is set to cheer on Stuart McCall's side when they host Queen of the South in the second leg of their play-off quarter final as Rangers attempt to take another step towards a Premiership return.

After a season of protests and unusually low crowds as fans showed their frustrations towards the former board, it will be a welcome change for the Gers players to run out in front of a capacity crowd once again against the Doonhamers.

More than 40,000 supporters turned out to see McCall's side beat the Jambos on home soil last month thanks to goals from Miller and Haris Vuckic.

And the 35-year-old has fond memories of the Ibrox atmosphere from that day as the Gers fans prepare to play their part in the promotion push on Sunday.

Miller said: "The one game this season I can think the place was like the Ibrox of old was the Hearts game. The place was electric going into that and I don't think it was a coincidence that you saw a real, good performance.

"Until Jig (Lee McCulloch) got sent off at the end of the first half, I thought it could have been three, four, five that day.

"We were playing well and were in control of the game. It just had that feel. The fans transmitted that energy onto the lads.

"We got a good start and got a goal, then got another goal.

"But I just felt from before a ball was kicked there was a real good vibe and atmosphere, the fans were on fire that day.

"It just had the Ibrox of old feeling and that a team was coming here and was getting sent home with nothing. It had that effect on the team."
