Miller time is fillip for Clark

NICKY Clark is confident the arrival of Kenny Miller will improve his game next season - despite the added competition for places at Ibrox.

Boss Ally McCoist completed his first deal of the summer last week as Miller signed for Rangers for the third time in his career, penning a one-year contract.

He joins Clark and Jon Daly in the Light Blues forward line, while Kris Boyd had also been linked with a return as McCoist bids to bolster his ranks.

And former Queen of the South striker Clark can't wait to get down to business and kick off his second season at Ibrox.

He said: "Kenny's someone I can only learn from and I'm looking forward to working with him. I'm sure I'll take a lot from him.

"I've heard a lot about him from the boys who played with him before and he's a really good player and a good guy.

"It'll be a good challenge for me. Every good team needs competition for places and the manager has brought Kenny in.

"That will ensure everybody is on their toes and when your chance to play comes, we'll all need to make sure we take it."

The 23-year-old found the net nine times for McCoist's side as the Light Blues claimed the League One crown.

The Gers will face a far sterner test when they bid for the Championship title next time out and Clark is determined to improve on a decent maiden season at Ibrox.

"I always knew it was going to be hard but I really enjoyed the campaign," he told

"I got injured around Christmas but even though I didn't always play, I feel I've got better and it helps playing with the sort of players Rangers have."
