NICKY LAW is delighted Rangers boss Ally McCoist will have plenty of selection headaches this season.

After being limited with regards to who he could select in the opening weeks of the season, Ibrox manager McCoist now has a full compliment to choose from with his eight new signings registered this week.

Law, Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Clark have already starred for the Light Blues in SPFL League One action and the midfielder is confident the next batch of arrivals will improve the Gers even more.

"We're looking really good and there is a lot of competition for every position on the pitch," Law told the official Rangers website.

"You can look at the Friday night victory we had over Airdrie and Jon scored a great double and he was on a high after that.

"He then had to miss the East Fife game last Saturday, Jig (Lee McCulloch) gets moved up front and he scores a superb hat-trick.

"But that's fantastic for the club and the competition we have now is as good as anything I've experienced in any of the squads I've played in.

"There is real quality there and it's a great thing for the manager albeit it will be tough for him when he has to decide who to pick for the games coming up.

"In midfield we will have Arnold Peralta looking to come in and Stevie Smith can also play on the left side.

"So the manager has a lot of options but that can only be a good thing."

Meanwhile, McCoist saw his side suffer a behind-closed-doors defeat to Premiership outfit Hibernian at Murray Park yesterday afternoon.

Trialists Steve Simonsen and Sam Kelly both featured for the Gers as Daly netted their only goal in a 3-1 reverse that saw Bilel Mohsni, Richard Foster and Steven Smith also turn out.
