MARCO NEGRI reckons Rangers could enlist the help of a string of Ibrox heroes as the Light Blues board attempt to return the club to its former glory.

The new Gers hierarchy have a sizeable task on their hands as they look to rebuild Rangers after years of problems on and off the park.

Every area of the club is in need of urgent attention and finance as Stuart McCall looks to guide his side back to the Premiership and take another step in the right direction.

Plenty of work will need to be undertaken in the coming years and Italian star Negri is confident former players would be only too happy to lend a hand to repay Rangers and the Light Blue legions.

He told SportTimes: "In Italy, we have got big clubs like Juventus, AC Milan and Inter and they have got a lot of fans around the world.

"But it is nothing compared to Rangers. The saying is 'once a Ranger, always a Ranger' and that is the feeling I have.

"When you play for Rangers, it is like a family. I consider myself a very lucky player because I had the chance to wear the Rangers shirt and play at Ibrox in front of such a magnificent crowd.

"I think Rangers must now rebuild everything and they can rebuild with the help of former Rangers players.

"They could do some scouting around Europe or do coaching, or do anything they can.

"For me, Rangers was the best club I ever played for. If I can give back something then I would be delighted. It would be a dream.

"I am sure it is would be the same for a lot of former Rangers players. If the club needed help with anything, there are people who would help and do a good job for the club."
