CHRISTIAN NERLINGER has turned down the chance to return to Rangers as chief football operations officer.
Ibrox chief executive Graham Wallace had identified the former Light Blues midfielder as the man he wanted to fill the newly-created role and head up the off-field running of the team.
But the German has decided against taking up the position after holding talks with Wallace in recent weeks.
