RANGERS striker Nicky Clark is confident he can make more of an impact in the coming campaign than he did in his debut season.

Clark often struggled to recapture the form that convinced Gers manager Ally McCoist to sign him last summer.

The striker netted over 40 goals as Queen of the South landed the Second Division and Challenge Cup double.

Last term he showed only flashes of his best play in the final third and failed to get into double figures in the scoring charts.

The 23-year-old spent over two months on the sidelines injured after picking up a knock in the physical clash with Airdrie in January.

But he is optimistic that he will be able to cope with the demands of being a first-team player with the Glasgow giants better in the coming months. He said: "I think it has gone well since I joined Rangers. Obviously it would've been good to score a few more goals. But it was good to get the first season under my belt.

"I hope things can be even better for me. The first season was about getting to grips with it all and seeing what it was all about.

"I've done that now, as have the other new boys. So hopefully we can all kick on in the new season and play even better."

Clark was speaking as he and team-mates Robbie Crawford and Calum Gallagher helped to launch the new Rangers third strip.

And Sport Times has one of the new strips to give away to a lucky reader.

To win the strip (over 18s only) just tell us: What club did Rangers sign Nicky Clark from?

Email your answer to sports.comp@eveningtimes.co.uk along with your full name, date of birth, home address, daytime telephone number and strip size and put RANGERS STRIP in the subject line.

Competition closes tonight at midnight. Usual rules apply. The editor's decision is final.
