Mohsni aimed a diving headbutt at the Scotland star in the second half of Saturday's game and was immediately shown a red card.

Martin, who scored two second-half goals for his Sky Bet Championship club, admitted he body-checked the French-Tunisian defender before his moment of madness.

But the 24-year-old forward, who was booked by the ref for his challenge, admitted he was shocked at the Rangers player's excessive response.

He said: "It wasn't something that you expect in a pre-season friendly. It was a little bit of a strange one.

"He obviously reacted to me running across him and body-checking him a bit.

"I think he lost it. He seemed fine during the game, so hopefully it was just a momentary lapse.

"I won't hold any grudges. I want to forget about it now. It's of no significance to me."
