ALLY McCOIST insists he won't push the panic button after Rangers' title challenge suffered another blow this week.
The Light Blues are six points off the pace being set by Championship leaders Hearts following an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Hibernian on Monday night.
Rangers have dropped eight league points in seven games so far this season and were given a hostile reception by fans at Ibrox after Alan Stubbs' side eased to an impressive win.
But McCoist won't get carried away ahead of the clash with Livingston this weekend.
"It is very early in the season, I don't think anyone would argue that," he told RangersTV.
"We are still sitting second in the table and we are not even a fifth of the way through it.
"As disappointed as we are, we are not going to start pressing panic buttons or anything like that.
"It is far, far too early to start getting carried away.
"Near the end of the season, round about April, when you start looking at things far more constructively and objectively.
"That said, it was an extremely disappointing night for us.
"The most important thing now is that we learn from it, we regroup and we press on."
