RANGERS are set to face another SPFL probe into alleged sectarian singing following the match with Raith Rovers at Stark's Park last night.

Tom Purdie, the governing body's match delegate in Kirkcaldy, will mention the chanting by Gers fans in a game that was shown live on BT Sport.

Rangers escaped any punishment from the SPFL for the alleged conduct of their followers in the League Cup semi-final against Celtic at Hampden earlier this month.

League officials considered three reports - by the police match commander, Hampden safety officer and referee Craig Thomson - and took no action.

They said that Rangers, and their Old Firm rivals Celtic, had done everything they could to ensure their supporters behaved on the day.

After the semi-final, an SPFL spokesman said: "It is clear from information already received that all parties prepared properly and thoroughly for the match and, to date, we have not seen any evidence of any breach of SPFL Rules by either club."

The governing body's guidelines stipulate that if clubs can show they have taken "reasonably practicable" steps to ensure that their supporters don't engage in unacceptable conduct they cannot be held accountable.
