RANGERS boss Ally McCoist is facing a major injury sweat ahead of his side's League Cup showdown with Falkirk tomorrow night.

McCoist could be without FIVE first team regulars for the third round cup match at the Falkirk Stadium.

Both Nicky Clark (shoulder) and Lewis Macleod (foot) limped off in the SPFL Championship game with Alloa on Saturday.

And Lee Wallace (calf) was ruled out before kick-off in a match against part-time rivals that his side would draw 1-1.

Cammy Bell (shoulder) and Kenny Miller (calf) were already sidelined for the trip to Clackmannanshire.

And the League One champions will struggle to replace that quintet for the last-16 meeting with the Bairns.

Clark, Macleod and Wallace have been the Glasgow club's most consistent performers throughout the 2014/15 campaign.

Light Blues medical staff will assess the fitness of the trio at Murray Park today in the hope they can be included in the side tomorrow evening.

Rangers struggled to overcome Falkirk when they met them in the Scottish Cup last season. The Ibrox club took until the 88th minute to edge ahead against full-time rivals who narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight.

Elsewhere, though, Fraser Aird, who also came off at the Indordrill Stadium at the weekend after suffering a blow to the face, looks set to be fit.

Meanwhile, skipper Lee McCulloch insists the Ibrox club have learned a lesson from their disappointing 1-1 draw with Alloa.

The SPFL League One champions struggled to break down their opponents at the Indodrill Stadium on Saturday, dropping two points and allowing leaders Hearts to move three points clear.

However, Gers skipper McCulloch believes his side will be better placed to cope with negative opponents in the rest of the campaign as a result.

He said: "The Alloa result was disappointing. We were really poor. We didn't get close enough to the ball as a team.

"We regrouped at half-time, the gaffer sorted us out and I thought we dominated the second half. We had a host of chances, but we just couldn't get the ball in the net.

"It feels a bit like a defeat. But we have a chance to put it right against Falkirk in the League Cup tomorrow.

"We have learned a lesson and it will not be happening again."

Meanwhile, former Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has been appointed CEO of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
